I’m a Chicagoan through and through, raised between the towering skyscrapers of the Gold Coast and the rich cultural layers of the city’s diverse neighborhoods. Growing up in Chicago wasn’t just about navigating the urban sprawl — it was about learning the art of code – switching, moving seamlessly between worlds, understanding the complexities of race, class, and identity. That journey shaped me into who I am today — a connector, creator, and community builder.

From Chicago’s Streets to Global Beats

My story begins in a city where hip hop isn’t just music—it’s survival, expression, and community. For over 20 years, I’ve been documenting the very soul of hip hop culture, not just in America but across borders, including my current home in the Czech Republic. From photographing underground shows in dimly lit basements to capturing legends on massive stages, my lens has always been focused on one thing — the truth in the moment.

But my hustle didn’t stop at photography. With over 24 years in PR and branding, I represented some of the biggest labels and even EA Games, telling stories that mattered and ensuring artists’ visions were seen and heard. Whether it was amplifying an up-and-coming rapper’s debut album or building strategies for massive brands, I stayed rooted in authenticity.

The Power of Voice – Radio & Storytelling

My passion for storytelling found its way to the airwaves. Hosting my own national show on Czech Radio (Radio Color), I blend music, culture, and real talk, creating a space where voices — especially those from marginalized communities — get their shine. From deep dives into Afro-Czech identity in my film “Am I Czech?” to the rhythms of Sergio Mendes on a special radio show, my goal has always been to celebrate the richness of global cultures.

But my storytelling isn’t limited to the mic. I’m behind the YouTube channel ChuckDiesal312, where I documentary my live shows, cultural events, and moments that deserve to live beyond the stage. From the Russ concert at Lucerna to the raw energy of Mobb Deep’s latest tour stop in Prague, I capture what you don’t want to miss.

A Community Builder at Heart

At the core of everything what I do is community. Whether I’m teaching English to Czech kids through hands – on workshops, leading classes in photography and videography, or highlighting positive stories of Africans and Afro-Czechs in the Czech Republic through Community Services, it’s all about building stronger, more connected communities.

Growing up, my summers in rural Louisiana with my grandmother, Miss Mary Scott, taught me life’s most valuable lessons—“You can create anything” and “Shit ain’t made to be perfect.” Those words still guide me today, reminding me that it’s the imperfections that make stories real and worth telling.

ChuckDiesal Today – The Global Hustler

Today, I’m a world traveler, constantly moving, learning, and documenting. From the soulful streets of New Orleans to the vibrant energy of Barcelona, I carry my camera, my voice, and my story wherever I go. But no matter where I land, Chicago is always in my heart — the city that taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of community.
