This week I took the groove on a different ride, with blending modern soul, bounce, Hip Hop, house, and a little funk to keep you nodding your head.

I opened with the velvet tones of Thee Sacred Souls and worked through layers of sound featuring Tall Black Guy & Moonchild, Thundercat & Tame Impala, Medasin, and Black Coffee. We moved into deeper vibes with Kaytranada, Masego, Disclosure, and Drake before getting gritty with GoldLink, The Internet, and Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes. Phonte & Eric Roberson gave it some grown man soul, and Fred Wesley closed it out with classic funk.

It’s about creating a space where all these sounds can connect, you know where a Jorja Smith hook belongs right next to some JB’s horns. That’s what this show is about.
