This week’s New Music Tuesday tapped into everything from throwback soul to razor-sharp bars and global grooves. We kicked it off with Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” in honor of The Emancipation of Mimi’s 20th anniversary. Samara Cyn made her presence known twice, once with Smino on “brand new teeth” and again on Ovrkast.’s “Small Talk.” Terrace Martin & Kenyon Dixon delivered buttery smoothness, Leon Thomas and Halle brought late-night R&B heat, and Obongjayar lit the fuse with “It’s Time.”

From Afrobeats to Amapiano, Dancehall to K-Pop, the energy stayed fresh. Clipse returned with “Ace Trumpets,” Rome Streetz linked with Conductor Williams, and Boldy James closed in with Nicholas Craven on “Spider Webbing Windshields.” A true blend of rhythms and moods.
