This week’s Freedom Thursday was all about uplifting vibrations and real music. I kicked things off with warm, soulful cuts from Koryn Hawthorne, Brent Faiyaz, Cleo Sol, and Mary J. Blige. While balancing modern R&B with timeless gospel and heart felt soul.
Then came the shift. In the second hour, I locked into that Chicago lineage, with straight bars and perspectives. From Common, Saba & No I.D. to Crucial Conflict, Brittney Carter, and Joel Q, I took it to the roots. Whether it was conscious joints or gritty classics, every track was chosen to move your spirit and nod your head.
Genres touched: Gospel, Soul, R&B and Hip Hop. This wasn’t just a playlist, it was my statement, as usually.
