August 14th on Freedom Thursday delivered a multi genre ride straight from Prague. We started with house energy, featuring Roy Ayers’ “Brand New Feeling (Phil Asher Main Mix)”, DJ Spinna’s “Music In Me”, Terry Hunter & Raheem DeVaughn’s Favorite Thing to Do, and Louie Vega Funk House vibes on 3 Winans Brothers’ “Dance”.

The set then slid into soul and R&B grooves with Mabel’s “Don’t Call Me Up”, Ashanti’s “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)”, H.E.R.’s “Damage”, Amerie’s “Mine”, Heavy D & The Boyz’ “Nuttin’ But Love”, Father MC’s “I’ll Do 4 U”, and more. Midway, we touched on old school Hip Hop with Chubb Rock, Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock, and Little Simz, creating smooth transitions into the second hour.

The second hour went full Hip Hop, starting with Tyler, The Creator’s “Noid”, followed by T.F & Khrysis, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Erick the Architect, Raekwon, Common, J. Cole, Brittney Carter, and A Tribe Called Quest, keeping the energy high with deep beats, tight flows, and timeless classics. The show balanced international house, soulful R&B, and hard hitting Hip Hop to give a full spectrum listening experience.
