This week’s New Music Tuesday on The Ride With ChuckDiesal was all about exploring soundscapes that move from smooth soul to heavy lyricism, with global energy tying it all together.

We opened with a jazzy and soulful foundation: Juicy J & Endea Owens with Taking My Kids to SchoolFelicia Temple’s heartfelt Alone TogetherMannywellz on Holy Father, and Asherah El with My Skin Speaks. KIRBY & Big K.R.I.T. added depth and urgency with Miss Black America, a track that resonated powerfully.

The vibe shifted into an electronic groove with Kaytranada’s “DON’T WORRY BABE / I GOT U BABE”, my personal favorite of the week, paired with Steve Lacy’s Nice Shoes and even a twist from Maroon 5 on All Night. The flow continued globally with Afro-Pop and Afrobeats from Qing Madi, Libianca, Magixx, and Armanii, blending summer ready rhythms with modern dancehall energy.

Hour two elevated the lyrical energy, kicking off with hip hop soul and sharp flows: Chance the Rapper (LettersThe Negro Problem), Recoechi (FLAVAZ), Che NoirKenTheMan, and Marco Plus all delivered standout moments. My pick for hip hop albums of the week belongs to Chance the Rapper with STAR LINE and Recoechi with FLAVAZ, but the entire set carried weight.

The show wrapped with a global closer Mick Man’s “Mdali”, a deep amapiano track featuring Sfarzo Rtee, Starr Healer, and Caramelized Music. A perfect way to end the session on a cross-continental rhythm.
