This one hit different, WHY? Because it was my birthday, and the studio was on fire! I started the show with Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday,” a timeless way to honor the day, and one minute in, flipped it straight into 2 Chainz and Kanye West’s “Birthday Song.” From there, we locked in and rode the wave of pure Hip Hop energy, with Hieroglyphics, Add-2, Denzel Curry, JID, Knucks, Apollo Brown & Skyzoo, Joey Bada$$, and more. Every verse, every beat was personal, tapping into what makes me love this culture.

The second hour was all about soul and mood. Kelis’ “Perfect Day” set the tone and from there, it was smooth sailing, Elle Varner, Snoh Aalegra, Usher, Kaytranada & Rochelle Jordan, and even a touch of acid-soul with that electronic finish. It was a musical reflection of everything I love, the balance between lyricism, groove, and emotion.

The Ride has always been about the journey, and this show was a full circle celebration of music, life, and the people who ride with me every week. One for the books. 🎙🔥
