On this edition of Africa Incorporated I opened the show with Mike Dunn and that Chicago house classic Dance You Mutha which set the tone with pure movement and energy. From there I shifted into a soulful beat driven pocket with heaters from 9th Wonder, Nicolay and Tall Black Guy. The grooves were elegant, warm and full of that true headphone depth.
After that I pushed deeper into the bars heavy zone. K’alley came in raw with Hood Professor, then J Cole and JR Writer lifted the energy with storytelling and punchline work. When the momentum hit its peak we went straight into a heavy Def Jam and Rocafella run. Dipset set it off and the heat kept building with Young Gunz, Beanie Sigel, Rell, Jay and Freeway. These records always take me back to the two thousands when I was marketing and distributing vinyl for these artists. The memories, the meetings and the moments came rushing back and the vibes were powerful.
We closed everything out with Total which added the right soul touch to end the broadcast. Another strong session full of history, feeling and energy. Listen more and peep game.
