Thundercat pulled up to Roxy Prague on March 10, 2026 and the building was already set. Sold out, wall to wall, standing room only.

Josef Baierl opened the night with about a 45 minute DJ set, running through soulful selections that had people nodding before the band even touched the stage. By the time Thundercat came out, the room was ready.

I was dead center, less than 10 feet from the stage, a few people in front of me but close enough to really catch everything as it happened.

Three piece setup. Bass, keys, drums. No extras. His six string bass carried the entire night, moving between fast runs and deep grooves while the band shifted between tight songs and moments where they stretched things out a bit.

And in between all that, Thundercat kept talking to the crowd, joking, keeping it light.

At one point he asked if anyone had ever been in the Mile High Club. The room went quiet for a second, so I threw out “Private or Domestic,” and that got a reaction from the stage. Thundercat hit back with “I did it for love,” and the whole place broke into laughter before they got right back into the music.

The crowd had their moments. Early on, a little reserved, but once certain songs hit, it changed. When Them Changes dropped, that was it. Everybody knew that one. The whole room singing along, front to back.

They moved through a strong set… Dragonball Durag, Funny Thing, Overseas, No More Lies, Black Qualls… and then slowed it down with I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time. That one felt different, more soulful, bass leading everything while the crowd just vibed with it.

After about 90 minutes, they came back out for an encore and ran No More Lies again, keeping that same energy going to close it out.

I was able to capture a lot of this from where I was standing, both video and photos, documenting the night as it played out in real time.
