This edition of Africa Incorporated was Hip Hop from start to finish, built around bars, flow, storytelling, and records that carried weight. The show opened with J. Cole alongside Daylyt and Ab-Soul, setting the tone with lyricism before the ride shifted into a set focused on creative female voices within the culture.
Tierra Whack brought her own abstract energy with “SIREN,” while Nicki Minaj’s “Itty Bitty Piggy” reminded everybody how sharp and confident her early mixtape run was. Then earthsignchels stepped in with “Daddy Died,” and that record Goes Hard. The emotion, delivery, and flow all cut through in a way that makes the song sit heavy.
From there, the session gave Jean Grae some well-earned love. Her features with Immortal Technique, Wale & 9th Wonder, and Robert Glasper showed different sides of her pen, from raw storytelling to soulful collaboration. Jean Grae has always been one of those emcees who can stand in any room and still sound like herself.
The second half of the ride leaned into soulful Hip Hop with Pinder, Joey Bada$$, Kota The Friend, Cordae, Quelle Chris, World Renown, and KMD. Each record carried its own lane, but the thread stayed consistent: strong production, thoughtful writing, and artists who understand how to bring feeling into Hip Hop without softening the edge.
Closing with JID’s “Money” gave the show a hustler’s anthem to finish on. After a full session of bars, Soul, and sharp emceeing, it felt like the right way to bring the ride home.
Another Africa Incorporated built on Hip Hop culture from top to bottom.
