This episode of Africa Incorporated was rooted in Gospel from beginning to end.

The inspiration came from a speaking event about the Blues. During that discussion, one truth stood clear: before the Blues reached the streets, it lived in the Church. The praise. The call and response. The emotion. The testimony. Much of what we recognize in the Blues began in worship.

So this show honored that origin.

The first half leaned into classic, powerful Gospel selections. Choir-driven harmonies, strong lead vocals, and songs that carry both spiritual conviction and cultural weight. These records represent community, resilience, and the power of collective voice.

As the show progressed, the energy shifted toward more contemporary expressions. R&B influenced Gospel sounds brought modern production while keeping the same message of faith, hope, and perseverance. The transition reflected how Gospel continues to evolve without losing its foundation.

This wasn’t just a playlist, it was a reminder of where so much of the music we love truly begins.

Praise before the pain. Faith before the struggle.

Enjoy and embrace the energy.
