Freedom Thursday opened with a strong sense of purpose, starting with Kirk Franklin and setting a tone that carried into soul with Orion Sun and SiR. That early stretch stayed warm and grounded, with Queen Naija and Syd building out the R&B layer while keeping the groove tight.

The shift into hip hop came naturally, with Lupe Fiasco and Q Tip adding depth before the first hour closed with George Benson bringing it back to a smooth, soulful finish.

Second hour flipped the energy completely, with house leading the way. DJ Spinna and Kimara Lovelace set the tone early, and from there the rhythm stayed consistent. Jax Jones and Louie Vega carried that dance energy forward, while Julio Bashmore and others kept the groove alive.

The second hour stayed locked into that house pocket, with soulful textures and steady movement that made it easy to get lost in the rhythm. It was a full transition from soul and hip hop into house, showing the range while keeping everything connected from start to finish.
