This edition of Africa Incorporated belonged to the ladies. From beginning to end, the show celebrated the women whose voices have helped shape Soul and R&B across multiple generations. Whether the records came from the 1980s, 1990s, or today’s charts, every song carried emotion, honesty, and timeless musicianship.

The Womack Sisters opened the ride with a beautiful reminder of the family’s rich musical legacy before Vivian Green and Deborah Cox delivered two records that have become staples for R&B lovers. Kelis added her unmistakable personality and style, proving once again that great artists don’t have to fit inside one creative lane.

The second half of the session belonged to today’s generation of Soul singers. Summer Walker, Victoria Monét, Coco Jones, Ella Mai, Jaz Karis, Kehlani, Normani, Chlöe, and H.E.R. demonstrated how modern R&B continues to evolve while remaining rooted in melody, storytelling, and real-life emotion. Every artist brought something different to the ride, yet together they created a seamless listening experience.

The show also revisited one of the genre’s defining groups as Xscape’s “Who Can I Run To” reminded listeners why the quartet remains one of R&B’s greatest vocal groups. Faith Evans added another timeless performance, connecting the golden era of 1990s R&B with today’s artists who continue to build upon that foundation.

This wasn’t about chart positions or streaming numbers.

It was about celebrating women whose voices continue to soundtrack our lives.

Good estrogen to get the week started on the right note.

Easy listening for the masses.
