Freedom Thursday was all over the place in the best way possible, opening with Kamasi Washington bringing that real jazz energy and setting the tone with something cinematic, deep and wide open. From there the show slid into soul with Orion Sun, Thee Heart Tones and The Altons, keeping the early vibration warm before Jaden Smith, Hailey Knox and Celeste helped move the set into a more modern pocket.

The first hour kept opening up with pop and R&B flavors from Katy Perry, Alessia Cara, Mumu Fresh and Chlöe, giving the show a brighter lift before the energy shifted toward hip hop. Aminé, Dej Loaf and AntsLive helped bridge that lane before Mobb Deep stepped in with Quiet Storm and brought the room into a darker hip hop zone.

Once the hip hop section took shape, Boogie Down Productions, Che Noir, Ransom and Kendrick Lamar kept the energy focused with bars, history and weight. Dave East and Mike and Keys pushed the bridge toward reggae with Shaggy, and that made the transition into Richie Spice, Warrior King and the dancehall energy of Armanii feel natural.

The global close came through heavy with Ruger, Fireboy DML, BNXN and Rema bringing Afrobeats into the ride before Beverley Knight ended things on a happy soul note with Moving On Up. This was Freedom Thursday doing what it does, moving through jazz, soul, pop, hip hop, reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats while keeping the whole session connected.
