This Freedom Thursday was a true journey through sound.

We opened with the timeless feel good record Dancing In the Moonlight by King Harvest, setting a warm and familiar tone. From there, the tempo lifted into house and electronic territory. Davide Migliardi, Coco & Breezy, Fred again.., Adonis, Major Lazer, and KAYTRANADA created a layered dancefloor atmosphere that felt intentional and fluid.
The first hour stayed rhythm forward. Grace’s anthem alongside Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and Jody Watley brought soulful dance nostalgia into the mix. It was groove driven but still grounded in melody and feeling.
Then the shift happened.
The second hour belonged to Hip Hop.
Public Enemy set the tone with authority. From there Strange Fruit Project carried introspection, Ghetts delivered sharp UK lyricism, and DJ Jazzy Jeff brought masterful production. Anderson .Paak connected soul and rap effortlessly, while The Pharcyde added West Coast flavor.
The momentum continued with Prop Dylan alongside DJ Premier, 7xvethegenius, Rapsody, and The Roots. The show closed with reflective energy from Ban2 and neo soul vibrations from OSHUN.
This episode was layered. Dance energy. Soulful classics. Lyrical Hip Hop. Different flavors moving in one cohesive direction.
That is the essence of Freedom Thursday.
