Freedom Thursday came in smooth with Moon Boots setting the tone, letting the groove breathe before flipping straight into the bounce of Digital Underground and that classic feel that still hits every time. From there the foundation locked in with JAY Z and Nipsey Hussle bringing that street perspective before easing into the storytelling and soul of Mos Def and the timeless pull of Michael Jackson.
The R&B and soul pocket kept everything grounded with Mýa, Ne Yo and Boyz II Men delivering that balance between nostalgia and melody, while newer voices like Enny and Yuna pushed things forward without losing the feeling.
Then the show opened up globally with Asake bringing that bounce into Afrobeats, followed by the deep movement of amapiano through Sam Deep and JayLokas, creating a pocket that kept the rhythm heavy and the energy flowing. Reggae stepped in naturally with Hempress Sativa and Max Romeo alongside dub roots from King Tubby, giving the set that grounded cultural depth.
Closing it out, the hip hop returned with intention through Pete Rock and Dillon Cooper before landing with LaRussell, bringing it back to the present with that independent energy. The whole session moved like a journey, blending house, hip hop, R&B and soul, Afrobeats, amapiano and reggae into one continuous ride that stayed upbeat and connected from start to finish.
